The Proposal

Daniel proposed on November 9, 2007. He wanted it to be a complete surprise, and believe me it was. Since he graduated he had been wanting to walk around campus one last time, so that Friday when he came in town we went to campus. We spent most of the evening roaming around to all the different spots that meant something to us. We talked about favorite memories and funny stories as we strolled through the big oak trees. Then we stumbled upon the very place where we first met ever. Accounting class in room 1111. There was a janitor in there at the time so we went to the classroom next door and continued reminiscing. We then decided to see if the janitor was gone, and he was. So we sat in the very seats where it all began, the first time we had ever seen each other or ever spoke. We continued talking, and making fun of our goofy accounting teacher. When we were about to leave we stopped in front of the chalkboard for a hug, then Daniel got down on one knee and said something along the lines as I'm not happy where our relationship is right now because I want to take it to the next level, we have made so many memories together and I want to make more with you, along with some more sweet talking. All I could say was "Uh uh uh uh uh uh, you have to put the ring on my finger uh" then Daniel says "Say yes!" so I replied "Of Course!"

Bling Bling

Daniel got the diamond when he was studying abroad in South Africa last spring. He went to the actual mine, Cullinan Mine, and bought it there. The British Crown Jewels and the largest diamond in the world came from this very site. My diamond is .75 carats, and completely flawless, a perfect diamond. The setting has 4 smaller diamonds and 4 French cut sapphires on each side. The setting is a 1920s antique Art Deco, hand engraved, platinum setting. I love it!

Puppy!!!

Daniel and I just got a new puppy, and we named him Silas (which means from the woods).
He is about 12 weeks old and 25 lbs. We adobted from an agency in Houston. He is a pitbull mix with maybe some bulldog in him.

Wedding Colors and Flowers and Cake, Oh My!

Colors

The Colors will be something similar to this, but the flowers will be more red, green, and white.

Flowers

This will be similar to the Bridesmaids bouquets with more green hydrangeas and other green flowers.

My bouquet will be white with some green in it.

Daniel and the Groomsmen will have this same green Orchid as their boutonniere.
The florist is Wedding Flowers by Lisa: http://www.weddingflowersbylisa.com/
Check her out, she's good!

Cake

This is my photoshop attempt to envision the cake. It will look just like this with the white on white icing detail for and elegant look. It will have 4 tiers, and a cake topper on top not flowers. The flavors are:

Bottom Tier:

Vanilla Bean Rum - White cake moistened with vanilla bean rum syrup, with vanilla butter cream icing.

Second and Top Tier:

New England Lemon - Classic white cake moistened with a bittersweet lemon curd, finished with silky butter cream.

Third Tier:

The Lajoie - Layers of luscious, moist white cake filled with delectable marmalade prepared with imported seedless raspberries, and glazed with our smooth butter cream icing.

The Grooms cake will be square with an LSU logo or something and will be the Latino Americano flavor - Chocolate cinnamon torte soaked in fresh Colombian mocha cream filling with dark chocolate finish.

The Reception

The Reception will be at La Colombe d'Or, which is French for The Golden Dove.
Built in 1923, the Fondren Mansion is a distinguished Texas historical landmark. As home to the World's Smallest Luxury Hotel (only five rooms, which we will have one of them), La Colombe d'Or epitomizes Southern French hospitality, elegance, and warmth. The actual reception will be in the Le Grand Salon de La Comtesse which is a beautifully restored French Ballroom from the estate of the Count and Countess Greffulhe. Originally carved for French Royalty, Circa 1715, the oak panels were installed in 1891 in the country estate of Comte Henry Greffulhe near Foutenailles, outside Paris. All of the fixtures are made of 24 karat gold. As an architectural setting for the Salon of Princess Elisabeth de Caraman-Chimay, La Comtesse Greffulhe, this exquisite room was the scene of the supreme social and cultural flowering of the fin-de-seicle refinement. Le Grand Salon was the scene of the last great ball of European royalty prior to World War I. Guests of Le Grand Salon included Czar Nicholas of Russia, Caruso, Louis Pasteur, Marie Curie, Wagner, Marconi and Proust.
La Comtesse Greffulhe

The dress the Countess is wearing rests in the costume department at The Louvre Museum. At the turn of the century she was regarded the most beautiful women in the country.

Le Grand Salon

In the cove of mirrors to the right is where the cakes will sit, and in front of that is where the wedding party table will be. There is an entire area outside of the ballroom where the buffet and more tables will be.
